A Tailored Therapy Approach
For Couples in the Baltimore Area or Online Online in 40+ states
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to keep navigating it on your own.
You love your partner…
But lately, it feels harder to connect. Conversations turn into misunderstandings. Arguments spiral instead of getting resolved. The spark that once felt effortless now takes work.
Couples Therapy
-
I help couples who are past the “honeymoon phase” and want more than just getting by—they want to feel deeply seen, supported, and understood by each other.
Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), we’ll get underneath the surface conflicts and uncover the patterns that keep pulling you apart.
Together, we’ll:
Break out of the same arguments on repeat
Rebuild trust and safety in your bond
Communicate in ways that bring you closer, not push you apart
Create a relationship that feels like a secure base, not another source of stress
In relationship therapy, I strive to provide a warm environment where all parties feel seen, heard, and respected.
I have been told that I am very even-handed and it is clear that I am not taking sides with one partner or the other; instead, I focus on helping you to remove barriers to connection and collaboration so that you can find the strength and wisdom to make decisions as a team.
I take a very active approach to couples work, using EFT to guide the majority of my work. I have also completed Gottman Level II Training and use Gottman research and resources as needed throughout treatment.

I have particular interest and experience helping couples navigate the following issues:
• Lack of intimacy
• Communication breakdowns
• Anxiety/stress
• Recovering from infidelity
• Grief
• Relationships where one or both partners struggle with ADHD/Executive Functioning challenges
• History of trauma
-
I see all types of couples in therapy, including dating, premarital, and married partners.
Couples therapy is designed to help couples deepen their relationship and resolve conflicts. I serve as a guide, helping clients to identify areas of tension, communication breakdowns, and patterns of behavior that may be causing distress. I then provide tools, strategies, and insights to address these issues effectively.
Why Couples Therapy?
Emotionally-focused couples therapy (EFCT) significantly improves marital satisfaction, and this effect is sustained after the end of treatment (Beasley and Ager, 2019)
EFCT is shown to significantly reduce individual symptoms of depression and anxiety (Reinitz, 2018)
Compassionate couples therapy can reduce attachment anxiety, attachment avoidance, and increase emotional intimacy (Derikvandi and Asl, 2023)
What does this mean? Couples Therapy is not only good for the relationship bond, but also reduces individual symptoms of anxiety and depression.
